SPAIN

2007 July 07 « The Crazy News

Spain has a population of approximately 40 million people and is the 5th largest country in the European Union.  It shares its coastline with two water bodies: the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea. The language spoken is Castilian, although us Americans refer to it as Spanish.

From the years 711 - 1492, Spain was dominantly Muslim, although today it is 76% Catholic.  Still today, throughout Spain, you'll see the Muslim influences in food, architecture and culture. If you are an art lover, Spain is the place for you, as artists such as Velazquez, Goya, Dali and Picasso have their roots here, resulting in some of the top museums in the world.
