ATHENS, GREECE
SEPTEMBER 2007

Athens is the capital of Greece, as well as the largest city in Greece.  There are over 3 million residents calling Athens home and the city is widespread and bustling.  While in Athens, we stayed at the Electra Palace Hotel (http://www.electrahotels.gr/), where unbenounced to us, we were treated to a free upgrade to a suite, with a view to the Acropolis.  As this was the first city on our 2 week long vacation, it was a fantastic way to set the tone for the duration of our trip.  Our hotel also had a tasty restaurant on the top floor, all outdoor, overlooking the Acropolis.  As nightfall came, the Acropolis was illuminated with lighting that changed color every few minutes.  We enjoyed our lengthy Grecian dinner, followed by a wine recommended by our new friend, Stefan from Budapest, who just happened to be seated next to us during dinner.  We shared our wine, shared our stories and shared this fantastic view.  With great company, great service and an envious view of the Acropolis...what about Athens is there not to love?
