CYPRUS

Cyprus is the 3rd largest island in the Mediterranean and receives over 2.5 million visitors each year. Cyprus is also known as "The Island of Aphrodite", as the goddess of love was born here. The Cyprus flag reveals a geographic image of itself, colored in copper. The word "Cyprus" is believed to translate to "copper", as many large copper ore deposits have been discovered on the island. Also on the flag are featured two olive branches, symbolizing peace, against a white background, also representing peace.
