KIENTZHEIM, FRANCE - ALSACE REGION
AUGUST 2007
Christer and I make a quarterly pilgrimage to the Alsace region...specifically to Kientzheim. We have fallen in love with the village of Kientzheim and perhaps more so with the Paul Blanck wines (found in Kientzheim). Kientzheim is quaint, lovely and quiet. We've made a good friend with Jean-Marc, wine guru at Paul Blanck. This visit, being Mom's first (Christine's Mom, Stephanie, who is visiting for 6 weeks), we booked an appointment with Jean-Marc, who spoiled us with divine French bread, fresh chevre cheese (as in, fresh from his friends goat), a flurry of Alsacian wines and great company. Mom is hooked on Kientzheim and even said...this just may be my favorite trip yet! And this was BEFORE the wine drinking!!!!
