KUTNA HORA, CZECH REPUBLIC
JULY 2007
Kutna Hora is a small village about 1 hour outside of Prague. We were making the lengthy drive from Prague, CZ to Krakow, PO, and decided this would be a worthy detour. I have never seen anything like this in my life....macabre, interesting, beautiful. Monks built the Sedlec Bone Church or 'Kostnice u Sedlci' if you are Czech, during the 15th century, using the bones of plague victims. The church features a massive chandelier that holds every bone within the human body. As I said, a bit macabre, but beautiful in an artistic sense.
