RUSSIA

I've mentioned this before and I'll say it again...when something is off limits and taboo, such as Russia....I'm interested, so sign me up. Russia has long been on my list of MUST SEE'S and I finally got my opportunity in June 2006. It was just what I anticipated and more. I expected to find a juxtaposition of poor and wealth, I just didn't expect the variances to be so great...there is no middle ground here. You are either incredibly wealthy or incredibly poor. And wow, the wealthy know how to live. Never before have I seen the opulence that exists here. Awe-inspiring churches coated in jewels and gold, museums with gold railings and crystal chandeliers, palaces with the finest porcelain and an art gallery that easily rivals the Louvre. Incredible...I look forward to coming back and experiencing more.
