FRANCE
Being that we live on the border of Germany and France, we get to France quite often. Neither of us speaks a lick of French, so it's always an interesting adventure full of pointing, giggling and surprise when we "think" we order a cheese sandwich and wind up with a pig leg on a plate. The French definitely do have that 'something' about them...they dress well, always look put together, stylish, yet they make it appear effortless. I'm still trying to figure out how this is done (and no, I'm not even close to breaking the code....still donning the sweats and old Gap t-shirts).
The more we visit France, the more I fall in love with it. I've become an official Francophile...loving everything French. Yet understanding none of it. Paris is Paris...might just be the most spectacular city in the world....it offers everything and does so in a grand way. It's intoxicating. And then there is the Alsace region of France....intoxicating in a mild manner....simple, rolling hills covered in vineyards. It is the best location to just 'get away from it all'.
