Beer, bellies and lederhosen might come to mind when one says Germany.  But this lovely country is so much more than that (but yes, there is plenty of beer, lots of big bellies and your monthly sighting of lederhosen).  There are snow-capped mountains, remnants of Industrialism, WWII scars, 700 year old churches and vineyards around every corner. One of the best experiences: the wine fests held during the summer through fall....when you ask for a glass of wine, you get it in a beer glass.....2/3 of a bottle of wine.  Outstanding!  Prost!
